Writers, Artists, and General Weirdness.

I've been fascinated with maps and the Other Realms of fantasy fiction from a very early age, since my aunt bought me a copy of RISK in fact, and have been inspired by the worlds of JRR Tolkien, HP Lovecraft, Ed Greenwood, CS Lewis and others.

I've been drawing maps for nearly 20 years and have, in the past, mostly hand painted them. I am however currently enjoying using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop not only to draw maps but also continue to design and produce other artwork.

Growing up in North Wales and Chester I've had the fortune of being raised in the area of Celtic tales of heroes both British & Roman and these have been my life long love. These tales and the legends of Arthur, Taliesin, Gawain  & Merlin have brought me to my current passion of maps and fantasy fiction but also made me a committed student of history during the so-called Dark Ages.

If you should ever find yourself in the northern Welsh Marches and feel stirred by the terrain, architecture, history, culture or language then be happy for you too will have discovered that you have 'Slate for bones and mountain rainwater for blood'.

Graphic Designer. Writer. Father. Harbinger of bad humour. I grew up on a diet of British fantasy roleplaying games (such as Fighting Fantasy and Dragon Warriors), imported American 'classics' (such as Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia and...ah... TORG) and British comic books (2000AD and Eagle, when it resorted to eerie photo-strip stories).

I'm particularly inspired by genuinely scary fiction and film and hope to be able to put some of what I've got out of such works back into society, to disturb and entertain new generations of gamer in turn.
